DuPont^™ Teflon^® Fabric Protector Safeguards from Occasional Spills

BRISTOL, Wis. (April 28, 2004) – While enjoying a game of billiards with your family or friends, the last thing you want to worry about is spilling a drink on the table and staining the cloth. Brunswick Billiards has recognized this concern and launched its own stain-resistant Centennial^® Cloth to help protect any billiards table from these mishaps.

Centennial^® Cloth is woven with worsted wool embedded with Stain-Resistant Dupont^™ Teflon^® Fabric Protector that safeguards the cloth and table from occasional spills. It helps minimize cue ball friction burns (the white spots), keeping the table looking brand new for years to come. Centennial Cloth does not pill or shed, maintaining a clean, sleek, playing surface.

"In gathering research from consumers, pool rooms and our dealers, we found that there was an opportunity in the marketplace for a better cloth," said John Stransky, president of Brunswick Billiards. "Since home and pool hall billiards tables are susceptible to occasional spills, it made sense to create a cloth that was stain resistant, durable, and played as good as or better than any other competitive cloth."

Expert players can be assured optimal speed is achieved in the production of Centennial Cloth through a pressurized vacuum decating process. The process allows the cloth to be thicker, 25 ounces of fabric per square yard versus the standard 19 ounces, while still providing both durability and speed. Centennial Cloth lasts up to 60 percent longer than competitive cloth, allowing consumers and pool rooms to change their cloth less frequently, saving them time and money.

"Each piece of the cloth is 100 percent hand-inspected at least four times during manufacturing," Stransky said. "This is to ensure there is consistency in quality, durability, and finish."

Brunswick’s new Centennial^® Cloth will be available in 11 different colors to reflect the style of each individual home or billiards room, and offer lasting durability, professional performance and refined style that consumers expect from Brunswick Billiards.

The company recently unveiled the Centennial^® Cloth at the Billiards Congress of America Conference in Las Vegas, where it received rave reviews.
