Caring For Your Table
With Pool and Snooker tables the maintenance formula is the same. A little care assures the finest performance and appearance for a lifetime.
Brush the cloth in the direction of the nap when needed with a proper pool table brush
Use a cover to protect the top and sides of the table.
Your table is probably made of beautiful woods. These parts of your table require the same care and feeding as any good furniture. Use a good furniture oil or polish on lacquered surfaces. On oil finishes a final coat of Johnson's Trewax should be applied and buffed off after drying. These measures of care are usually performed annually with light dusting done periodically between the above care programs.
Now a word about your leather pockets. The tanning process used on all leather is hard on leather. It tends to dry out the leather enough so that without a little attention, its life will be shortened. There are many fine leather conditioning products on the market. Oil type products replace the natural oils in leather and in time make leather much more supple and extend its life to several lifetimes of the product in its untouched new state. Simply work the conditioner into all the external parts of the pockets (where the ball does NOT touch the pocket) and allow it to stay on the leather, It will eventually be absorbed into the leather. Do it again in six months and again in another 6 months. A year form now you will really notice the difference.
You've purchased a table from Family Recreation Centre and it is destined to become a family treasure for generations to follow. A little care now will allow this outstanding table to become a legacy.
